As a game studio, we are also looking closely at Web3, especially the possibility of using NFT in the game. However, we think the basic requirement for doing such is to have a great game loved by players. We will make sure our game would be friendly for both traditional and Web3 gamers once we take that step forward.
Meanwhile, we are still developing the game. If you are interested in joining us, or simply want to talk with us, you could join the communities down below.
Can’t wait to see you in Star Realms!
Unlike the other VR social games which encourage players to meet each other in public spaces, we emphasize on co-op building and virtual space ownership (Realm). Afterall, we all need find our home in metaverse before we start to make new friends. Using our co-op construction system, you could invite others to help build your house and decorate your Realm. You will get to know your friends as you build more and more things together.
Co-op construction is just like building LEGO with friends. The creation system is based on a simple pick-chose-place process. You can pick basic building elements or Mini-mods and decorate empty scenes to create your own Realm.
Mini-mods are purchasable building block that includes unique mechanisms and interaction. Formula:” game design + art asset + code = Mini-mod. ” The idea of Mini-mods comes from modding which allows players to install game content created by professionals outside the game. In other words, you can buy and pick Mini-mods created by both the official dev team and individual modders and use them to decorate your land.
We have two different art styles for the environment and for avatars: the environment and the majority of item and building elements are low poly. However, our avatars are more cartoony, smoother and will have around 10000-20000 polygons. They will present themselves as young adults with stylish clothing and unique personalities.
As to the usable art assets, we pick one default and four signature architecture styles selected from different cultures (Chinese, Japanese, European, SiFi). Players can choose from more than 200 unique building elements to begin creating. Meanwhile, basic elements such as square cubes are also provided.
We are a group of experienced game developers and designers from top game studios and game schools. Our team members come from Tencent Timi Studio, Happy Elements, USC Games, and Utah Games.
The game will be built through fast iterations, step by step. The closed beta will be released by September, and we’ll onboard everyone soon.
